Betsy Winston

Director Pequeños Exploradores

It is the combination of Montessori education and outdoor education that gives each child the opportunity to learn through concrete experiences and live their education. I hope that the children who participate in Pequeños Exploradores will cultivate a passion for learning and a love for nature.

For me, Pequeños Exploradores is a loving space, where the primary objective is the learning and well-being of each boy and girl, respecting their interests, their particularities and their families. It is a space full of diversity where we learn to live in peace with each other and with nature.

Elementary Guide

Education in and with nature allows us to observe the primitiveness of being and the awakening of the inner self in a pristine and harmonious way. It is a space where the environment acts as a primary entity for the development of conscience for the care and respect of the place we inhabit, learning to live in freedom and empathy with everything that surrounds us.

I fervently believe that this education helps us all to improve our great planetary community, through the learning of values, attitudes, skills and strategies that seek to educate in peace and happiness, where the most important knowledge is obtained through experience and exploration. It is here where you can understand the ultimate goal we have in the world, which is to leave it better than we found it.

Early Education Guide

When I talk about Pequeños Exploradores, I describe it as a space to reconnect with the curious soul of childhood, the one that connects with life in the open air, where the most natural and purest form of the human being emerges. A place where the environment is prepared to receive and satisfy the intrinsic needs of each of us who daily inhabit this beautiful space, where teamwork is strength and joy together with energy are the main ingredients.

For me, contact with nature is essential for children to develop their creativity and learn to value, care for and respect it as well as learning to live with and feeling familiar in this beautiful landscape that is Patagonia. Also, that they are self-sufficient and independent from a young age makes them more self-confident in the future.
